Interview Projects

I regularly talk to clinicians, employees, and patients about their experiences with Emplify’s digital tools.

Usability Studies

I specialize in unmoderated usability studies, which requires particular attention to script writing.

Surveys

I craft surveys of all sizes for a variety of topics, and provide thoughtful statistical and thematic analyses based on results.

Heuristics Analyses

I use Nielsen/Norman UX heuristics to analyze web sites and make design recommendations.

Case studies

Below are three case studies of my UX research projects. Much of the work I do is team-based with at least one colleague on my team. I enjoy the collaborative nature of UX research, and have had success in working with in small- and large-team contexts. My third case study shows that I am also able to work on solo projects. I use these as exemplars, but I have others to share in more interpersonal contexts.

Click on any of the studies below to see more detail. All content on my work is at a general level, for organizational privacy. More detailed explanations are available in an interpersonal context.

Case study 1

Employee Onboarding

I co-led a multi-departmental study to recommend  improvements on how new and transferring employees are onboarded.

We talked to onboarding support staff, clinicians, and nurses who need access to sensitive patient data software and secure building areas.

Our study encompassed multiple software tools as well as cross-departmental coordination.

Case study 2

ServiceNow Usability

I co-led a project to understand current user experience of the company’s ServiceNow space in anticipation of a structural redesign.

ServiceNow is the online hub for employee requests for technology, building access, and other needs. Tickets are submitted, then routed to the appropriate team to help the employee resolve their issue.

It is well known that staff see our instance of ServiceNow as a challenge to use.

Case study 3

Specialty Pharmacy

I conducted a solo project to better understand how patients experience the process of obtaining rarer and more expensive pharmaceuticals. I was responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and conducting the interviews, as well as providing analysis of the data for stakeholders.
